BOWLING.
SEASON NEARING CLOSE. ARMSTRONG AGAIN CHAMPION. The bowling season is nearing conclusion, much to the regret of those interested. As far as the local club is concerned, the 1920-21 season has been very successful indeed. CHAMPION SINGLES. Thexphampion singles was again won by Mr G. H. Armstrong after several very close- games. He won A section, Dave Roulston won B section and J. J. Coady triumphed in C section. In the semi-final Roulston beat Coady and Armstrong beat Coady. Armstrong defeated Dave Roulston in the final by one point after a most interesting and exciting game.
B GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP. . The B grade championship was annexed by Stan Gribble, who went through undefeated. The section winners were B. Clarke and S. Gribble, and the latter defeated his rival after a close game. FIRST YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP. Charles Bonner, jun.,: put up a meritorious performance in the first year singles championship, winning all of his 10 games. Charles, who is very popular on the green, received many congratulations upon his achievement. CHAMPION PAIRS. The champion pairs matches are not quite completed. G. Armstrong and Ws. Butler have won A section and F. Perkins and A. F. Brown B section. The final will be played during the week. ANZAC CUP MATCH. On Saturday next teams will journey to West End to defend the Anzac Cup at present held by Pukekohe. The rinks are as follows:—Crosbie, Perkins, Fitness, J. Adams; A. A. Civil, J. Coady, Jas. Roulston, G. Armstrong; Dave Roulston J. Blake, H. Gribble Duncan Roulston. First year rink: C. Bonner, jun., H. Bromwich, G. G. Littlejohn, F. H. Hewitt. AUCKLAND EASTER TOURNAMENT The Auckland tournament takes piace at Auckland at Easter. Several local players intend competing. Messrs F. Perkins, Jas. Roulston, Dave Roulston and G. H. Armstrong will represent the club in the executive fours match and Messrs. C. Bonner, jun., H. Bromwich, G. G. Littlejohn and F. H. Hewitt in the first year championship.
