ENTERTAINMENTS.

“ THE POM POMS.” TO-NIGHT, TO-NIGHT. The celebrated “Pom Pom” company of entertainers, under the direction of Mr. Edward Brown, will appear at the Premier Hall on Friday next. The company consists of the very best class of entertainers and intending patrons are assured of a first-class entertainment. In towns where the “Pom Poms” have appeared glowing accounts appear in the press as to their capabilities. Recently the company appeared at Kawakawa and the following is from the Northern Luminary:—The company, indeed, proved themselves worthy of the support accorded. The performance was varied, interesting, and of a first-class order —being clean and bright. The various items were well received and the artists had frequently to respond to encores. The stage fittings and costumes were indeed a revelation to a Kawakawa audience. The entertainment provided was of a high-class order, and should the company again visit Kawakawa they can rest assured of receiving the support that they rightly dei erve.

STRAND PICTURES. TO-MORROW (SATURDAY) NIGHT. A big double feature programme will be shown at the Strand. Ann Cornwall starring in the Universal picture, “The Girl in the Rain.” An electric storm and cloudburst plays an important part in “The Girl in the Rain,” for it is when Judith is rescued from the flood by Boone Pendleton, of the Virginia Pendleton’s, that her life’s path takes a new turn, and later it is Boone’s influence which sets her brother on the right road and leaves clear her road to a happy future. Montague Love in “The Rough Neck.” The story of a primi-tive-natured man of the big American lumber camp. A new World film sensation. Good supports are included. ODDFELLOWS’ HALL. TO-MORROW NIGHT. A complete change of programme will be submitted at the Oddfellows’ Hall to-morrow night, when Tom Mix will appear in “The Wilderness Trail.” The supports include a Sunshine comedy entitled “Chicken a la Cabaret,” and an interesting Fox news.
