TOWN SEWERAGE.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND COUNCIL,. At the Borough Council meeting on Wednesday evening a letter from the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce was read, wherein it was stated that when Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospitals, visits Pukekohe in connection with the proposed hospital, it was the Chamber’s intention to have a deputation wait upon him and bring the question of sewerage before his notice. The letter concluded by asking that the Council supply the necessary data therewith. The clerk reported that the Chamber’s secretary bad called upon him but did not know just what, data he wanted. The Mayor said that he had nothing against the Chamber, but he thought the Chamber was not treating the Council fairly. The members of the Chamber should, if they have a grievance, come to £ome of the officers of the Council and ask for information. A Councillor: They’re only trying to make a mess of things and pull against us. The matter was concluded by the Mayor stating that if there was any information on the matter he could give Dr. Valintine he would be pleased to do so.
