ABUSIVE LANGUAGE

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. Paul Desire Nestor Verschaffelt was’fined £2 10s and costs when he ; appeared, before Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Police Court to-day on a charge of trespassing on the property of a farmer'at Tawa Flat. It was stated that Verschaffelt. had called to see a heifer, about which there had been a complaint that it had been ill-treated by a neighbour. Verschaffelt was told it was too dark, and evidence was given that lie was told to leave and I bat he used language of a rude and abusive nature.
