DEPUTATION TO PREMIER (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. • The question of a shooting season next Vinter was discussed to-day at a meeting of the North Island - Acclimatisation Societies Council, at which the president of the South Island Council, Mr G. L. Pom-fret-Dodd, was also present. It was resolved that the North and South Island Societies' desired an open season in 1943, whether new ammunition was released or not, and that the period should be three 'week-ends for duck, with longer periods for other game, as required by the individual societies. _ : Later, members of the council met the Prime Minister* Mr Fraser, as a deputation to obtain his view. Mr Fraser said that a reply could not be given till later.
