LIBERTY LOAN
CITY COUNCIL'S INVESTMENTS The Finance Committee of the City Council willlreport as follows to the council meeting on Tuesday evening regarding the city’s investments in the second liberty loan:— Consideration has been given to the matter of investment of city funds in the second liberty, loan, which is now open for subscription. Available funds are at present at the disposal of the city sinking funds commissioners (£36,000) and the renewal fund commissioners (£5,000), and these bodies.’.have agreed to invest , the. whole of these sums in the loan. There is a further £29,000 available in the renewal fund account, and your committee recommends that that sum be also invested in the loan. It is understood that the sinking fund commissioners of the Drainage Board will also at their next meeting consider the investment of a sum of £15,000 in the loan. These sqveral allocations, if approved, will provide a total of £85,000, and represent the whole of the funds availal le at the present time. The sum invested in the first liberty loan was £50,000.
