OBITUARY

MISS G. R. WEBSTER The death has occurred suddenly at Christchurch ot Miss Catherine R. Webster, well and affectionately remembered by many in Dunedin. Miss Webster was formerly a senior member of tho staff at Ross Horae, and resigned from that institution on August 31 last after a period of 25 years’ service. Miss Webster was greatly loved there by one and all, and. at the time of her retirement, the Presbyterian Social Service Association paid a tribute to her loyal tcrvice. MR VERNON T. DREW (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 22. The death occurred suddenly to-day of Mr Vernon Thomson Drew, the general secretary of the Auckland Mr Drew was engaged in his usual duties in the association’s buildings when he collapsed. An ambulance was summoned from a station nearby, but before its arrival he was found to be dead. Mr Drew, who was 56 years old, had been - related with the Y.M.C.A. movement for 23 years, and was formerly in charge of the Dunedin Association. MR W. P. GAUVAIH WELLINGTON, October 22. Cabled advice lias been received of the death in England of Mr W. P. Ganvain aged 65, a consulting engineer wan was prominently associated with electrical reticulation work in New Zealand 20 y r -ars ago. Tie was a director of various Waihi mining companies. He returned to London several years ago.
