McDiarmid, Balelulha, was charged with having liquor in his possession in the vicinity of a dance hall and was/ lined 40s, with 10s costs. D. J. Dickens, Balelulha North, was lined 40s, with 11s costs, for having liquor in his possession in (he dressing room of a hall where a dance was in progress. Robert B. Wyber, aged 17 years, Balelulha, was charged with assaulting William Mason, billard room proprietor, Balelulha, on October 13. According to the evidence for the prosecution, it appeared that Mason had told defendant that owing to his age he could not play billiards, *and defendant had used bad language and then - struck him, with the result that stitches were required in the face and hospital attention necessary. Defendant was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay Mason £7 14s, and witnesses’ expenses 8s 6d, ttfe costs to he collected by (he probation officer. Several traffic cases and civil claims wpre heard.
