BRITAIN'S NEW BATTLESHIPS < Bee. 'S a.m.) LONDON. Oct. 21. It is officially announced that the new' battleships Anson and Howe are in full commission and serving with the fleet. They have already been in action while escorting a convoy to Russia. SHIPPING LOSSES IN ATLANTIC (Ree. 1 ip.m.) WASHINGTON. October 21. The Navy Department has disclosed the loss by torpedoing of three merchantmen off the northern coast of South America and in the Atlantic. The total United Nations’ losses in the Western Atlantic since Pearl Harbour is 497, according to an unofficial compilation.
