Hoy, J, O. Cherry, E. Longworth, R. S. Brent," W. Rutherford, H. H. Johnson, A. H. Finnic, D A Telfer, and P. J. B, Rendel. Following tlio discussions which have taken place at the last few meetings regarding the speed of Army vehicles, the borough inspector. Mr F. T. do Larger, presented a special report as follows; “The movement of these vehicles in and around the streets of the borough has been observed daily since the camps were established. During the early occupation of one camp, when the younger men were encamped there, a tendency to excessive speed was noticeable, but when reference to the camp authorities was made the position was rectified. During recent months 1 have not, observed any careless or inconsiderate driving of Army vehicles, and no specific complaints have been received at the office. In the past fortnight special attention has been paid to Queen's Drive, Royal Crescent, and Victoria road, and it is noticeable that the speed of Army vehicles has been greatly reduced below the maximum allowed under the traffic regulations.” In regard to a request from the military authorities for a special civilian speed limit in the vicinity of the camps, the inspector reported that he had explained to the camp adjutants tha no anhority existed to impose such a limit, and he had suggested that where offences were noticed the numbers of offending vehicles should be reported to the borough office. The Armv authorities had agreed to co-operate in this mailer. The report was adopted.
