RABBIT PEST IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, September 7. Australia is threatened with a rabbit plague in spite of the high prices offered for furs, which are urgently needed for military hat-making. The main reason is stated to bo that many expert trappers are in the army, and so the rabbits are breeding u’ltliout interference. In South Australia rabbits are reported to he consuming valuable fodder on an alarming scale.
