SUB-ZONE COMMITTEE MEETING •V meeting of the Dimediu-St. Hilda Subzone Committee of the Otago Provincial Patriotic Council was held this morning, Mr A. C. Cameron presiding. Tho chairman advised that the latest, report of. the amount received -was £5,500. All money was *not iu hand yet, but in round figures there was still about £5,000 to raise 0 to complete the extra quota of £lO 500. The report of the “ Posties’ Drive ” disclosed that £1,325 had'been received. It was decided to_ send a letter to the organisers expressing the thanks of the committee for what had been done. Eeceipts from the Mock Court held 111 George street last Wednesday were just a little over £IOO. The amount of £34 15s had been obtained by the Mock Court in South Dunedin. - t , , The National Appeal Coupon effort had resulted in only £3O 9s 9d being obtained from retailers extending from Frederick street to and including South Dunedin. QUEEN CARNIVAL. Mr E. Herbert advised that another £B*ooo had been paid in to patriotic funds on Friday, and that about £1,500 was still in hand. There were still a few small accounts to be paid, but the total receipts from the carnival would be in the vicinity of £17,000. ... The reading of a letter sent to the chairman of the metropolitan zone and a subsequent discussion were both taken in committee.
