PRISONERS FOR SENTENCE In the Supreme Court yesterday* before Mr Justice Kennedy, two youths, John Peter Pranks and Ronald Myron Dey, aged 18 and 20 years respectively, appeared for sentence on charges o| breaking and entry and theft at Dunedin. They were represented by Mr O. 6. Stevens. His Honour said the probation officer’s report concerning Franks was favourable. He would be placed on probation for two years under the usual statutory terms and conditions,,and be must pay the costs of the prosecution, one guinea, and make restitution in the sum of £2 Os 2d. “ This is not your first appearance before the court.” His Honour said to Dey. “ You have been twice beforo the court. So little did you profit by your probation you were illegally oa licensed premises, and then you committed theft. The proper ooureb Is to send you somewhere where you will bo disciplined.” His Honour sentenced Dey to- twa years’ Borstal detention.; _ j ' , •
