—Ministerial.The Minister of Civil Defence, the Hon, W. A. Bodkin, left by the express last night, en route for Wellington. The Slinister of Defence, the Hon. Jones, arrived by the express front Christchurch this morning. He will ro* turn to Wellington on Wednesday. Mr Justice Kennedy left by the express last night to attend sittings on the Court of Appeal in Wellington. Air A. J. Dowling was a passenger by the express last night, en route for Wellington. Mr and Mrs A. J, Ings, of Tomahawk, have received cabled advice thab their son, Murray, baa received In* “ wings.” ~ , Captain E. V. Sanderson, president of the Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, will arrive in Dunedin .on Monday, and will give nn address at tho meeting of the Dunedin, Gardening Club on the following night. Mr J. Howell, of Fairfield, has received advice that his son, Private J.J, Howell, has now been discharged from hospital. « Advice has been by Mrs C. Carolin, formerly of Dunedin and novt; of Ohakune, that her son,. Cecil Raymond (Mickie), has been reported missing. At a meeting of the committee of thei Albion-Y M.C.A. Cricket Club on Thursday evening a motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the lataSir James Allen, who had been connected with the club for 50 years.
