The Interchnrch Council regarded this att'tude as unsatisfactory, and reported that further action, such as advising parents to discourage attendance at such parades, might become necessary if the authorities persisted with the present practice. OVERSEAS CHAPLAINS’ REPORTS. The Rev. T. G. Campbell, C.F., addressed the Presbytery on a chaplain’s work on a hospital ship, commenting on the excellent impression being made by many young members of the churches m the Middle East, and on the 'dfficultics of Christian work in tlio forces. A letter from the Rev. H. A. Mitchell, C.F., who is a prisoner of war in Italy, was read, and revealed extensive work among those in the prison camp, where he is the only padre. Free Church, Anglican, and Dutch Reformed services were being held; a weekly Bible class had 70 members; during Holy Week 500 spent an Hour each day in study groups; 80 had come forward for confirmation in their various denominations; three men had decided to study for the ministry after Iho war: and all tlio men showed signs of serious Blinking
