OTAGO HUNT MEETING
The Otago Hunt Club’s annual race meeting at Wingatui on Saturday caters for all tastes of the sporting public. The openii 0 event on the card is a hurdle race, and this will be followed in turn by a light-harness event, a steeplechase, and a flat event. In this manner the programme has been arranged to provide a maximum of variety. More colour will be lent to the occasion by the fact that the fields are the best the club has ever attracted. The inside enclosure only will be used for the accommodation of patrons, and the club has been successful in securing a full hand in connection with the dispensing of luncheon and afternoon tea. Provision for the running of licensed booths has also been arranged. The first race is timed to start at noon, with intervals of 35 minutes between each race. Under these circumstances patrons would be well advised to make their investments promptly. A special train service at frequent intervals has been arranged, in addition to the usual trains, to convey patrons to Wingatui. Members of H.M. Forces (in uniform) will be admitted free.
