GRAND Acclaimed as a strange and powerfully exciting drama, ‘The Man Who Returned to Life ’ had its first Dunedin showing at the Grand to-day. With John Howard in the leading role, the cast also includes Lucille Fairbanks, ■ Marcella Martin, and Rodger Clark. The film opens with Howard appearing as a middle-aged man examining a newspaper photograph of himself and reading the accompanying article, which reveals that a man he once knew has been condemned to die for raurdernig him. Still very much alive, though posing under an assumed name, Howard starts thinking back over the strange turn of events which compelled him to adopt another name and finally caused an innocent man to be indicted for his murder. The entire record of his life is then revealed, explaining his connection with this strange affair, and the climax to the film is both unusual and entertaining.
