ST. COLUMBAN'S MISSION
ACTIVITIES IN DOMINION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. Wellington has been selected as th# New Zealand headquarters of St. Columban’s Mission Society, and » seminary for training missionary, priests is to be built. The Rev. Father J. McGlynu, formerly rector of the missionary seminary at Essendon, Vic-" toria, arrived recently, and has taken up his duties. The missionary districts arc China, Korea, Burma, and some areas in the Philippines. Father McGlynu says that although it is unlikely that the seminary will be built until after the _ war, the society’s work will be carried on in the meanwhile in an existing establish* ment. He mentioned that the Rev. Father Francis Herlihy, D.'L.Ch, has been appointed to the staff. _ Father Herlihy is at present detained in Korea, where he was working before Japan entered the war.
