ANGLICAN MISSIONS
RECORD OFFERING LAST YEAR (TLA.) WELLINGTON, August 20. A record sum of £26,113 was received last year by the Anglican Board of Missions. The previous highest total was £20,814, in 1940. 'The special appeal for orphaned or imperilled missions raised £1,930. Of this, £1,500 lias already been forwarded abroad—£32s each to Tanganyika, Jerusalem. China, and India, and £IOO each to the Belgian Congo and 'Tahiti. Of the ordinary receipts, £B,OOO was given- to the Melanesian Mission, £6,000 to the New Zealand Church Missionary Society for work in India. China, and Africa, £1.300 to Polynesia, £9OO for North China, £719 for Jerusalem, and smaller amounts elsewhere. The hoard at the annual meeting fixed the budgets for the incoming year as for last year, with the exception of an increase in the allotment for Polynesia.
