MAORI ASSAULTS CONSTABLE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 2_4. Wiremu Hunia Hiroki, aged 25, % Maori soldier, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment in the Polica Court to-dav for assaulting Constable Vincent while the latter was executing his duty. , ■ The police said that the constable was speaking to a group of Maori soldiers in Queen street on Saturday night, and Hiroki rushed in and struck him on the mouth.
