HOCKEY
The final matches of the A grade, intermediate, and C grade women’s hockey competitions were played on Saturday afternoon. Training College 1., which was at the head of the competition ladder, was defeated by Momona, but it has won the A grade section, being 3 points ahead of Kings, the runners-up. Bounty and Fern are the respective winners of the intermediate and C grade sections. The following are the results of Saturday’s games —Men’s Matches.— Senior Grade. —University A 8, High School Old Boys 0; Albany drew with Uni-' versity B, 4-4. Junior Grade.—Air Training Corps A 3, University C 2; University D 4, Air Training Corps B 1. —Women’s Matches.— A Grade. —Momona 6, Training College I. 3;. Knigs 1, Otago 0. Intermediate Grade.—Kings 1, Taieri 1. B Grade.— Otago 6, Kings 2; Glenross 8, Momona 1, C Grade.—Momona 4, Otago 2. —Representative Fixtures.— Women’s representative matches between two Otago A grade teams and teams from South Otago will bo played on the Oval next Saturday. The Otago teams will be announced to-morrow night by the Executive Committee of the Women’s Hockey Association. CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIP (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 22. . University, by beating Sehvyu 2-1, won the Canterbury championship for the second successive season.
