ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
CLOTHING FOUND ON WATERFRONT. The clothing of » woman was found on the Onehunga waterfront on Saturday morning. It 'was later identified as’ that of Mrs Eileen Alice Foster, aged 46, whose husband lives at Devonport. She had been missing from a convalescent home in Mount Eden since Friday -night. The Onehuuga police began dragging operations on Saturday afternoon'and also canned out a search of the foreshore, but without result. SOLDIER FOUND DEAD IN BED. A young soldier, Private Keith Owen Alexander McEldowney, aged 18, was found dead in his bed at a battle station in Auckland on Saturday morning. Death is believed to have been due to suffocation. BODY IN RIVER. The body of John Alexander Wilson, aged 28, who had been missing from his home at Stirling since April last, was found in the Clutha River, about one mile above Balclutha, yesterday morning. An inquest was held at Balclutha to-day. FOUND DEAD. John William Grant, aged 62, a blacksmith, who resided at Berwick, was found dead yesterday morning with a wound in his chest. A shotgun was beside the body. Au inquest was opened at Outran! to-day.
