M'CREADY RETAINS TITLE
DRAWN BOUT WITH KATAN [Peu United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 7. Once again the British Empire wrestling title was contested to-night, when the holder (Earl M'Cready) retained it by holding John Katan to a draw, one fall each. Katan had the better of the last round, but as a championship bout cannot be decided on points M'Crcady remained tho Empire champion. The bout, which was lively, was watched by a large crowd. M‘Cready opened the scoring with a fall with a firing bodv scissors and press in the third round. Katan made use of a novel toehold tvith which he took a fall in the seventh. In the last round he again shaped the hold, and had Af'Cready in trouble with it till the bell rang.
