THE MISSING PRISONERS. Despite eager and widespread search for the four missing prisoners, the police have found no further trace since discovering the discarded prison clothing on Mr Martin Wilson’s property at Remuera yesterday morning. At 1 o’clock to-day the police said no complaints had been received of the theft of food or clothing. It is believed that the men are still in the Auckland district.—Press Association. GERMAN RAILWAYS. BUCHAREST, October 3. Travellers from Leipzig report that the German railways are seriously disorganised as a result of the British bombing. They were forced to change trains 15 times between Leipzig and Vienna. They admitted that troop trains were holding up the traffic but the line had been badly bombed in several places. It is reported that the railways in Western Germany are more severely dislocated. DETAINED IN SPAIN. LONDON, October 3. The ‘ Daily Mail’s ’ Geneva correspondent says ex-King Carol and Madame Lupescu who were intending to go to America have been detained in Spain as the result of “ pressure from outside sources.” It is believed that M. Paderewski has also been detained at Saragossa while en route to America.
