ANNUAL BAZAAR The annual bazaar organised by SI. Voter’s Ladies’ Guild was opened yesterday afternoon by tbe mayor (Mr A. H. Allen). Prior to the mayor’s address the vicar (the Rev. A. B. Vywell) conveyed his congratulations to the president (Mrs Homer), the secretary (Mrs H. C. Flinders), and to members upon the attractive appearance of the stalls, and also made sympathetic reference to the sudden passing of Mesdames G. Saxton and W. Marlin, who had rendered years of faithful service to the guild and had been working with them all 12 months .s ago. is Mr Allen said it was a real coming home ; for him and Mrs Allen whenever they n visited St. Peter’s. He had heard with !. much pleasure the progress in recent months e in dealing with an old building debt, and •- knew from past history of the good work a performed by St. Peter’s Ladies’ Guild in s this effort. y The people’s warden (Mr W. Homan), ■1 on behalf of the parishioners, thanked the I- mayor for Ids attendance and remarked y that the Ladies’ Guild was still a most o valuable institution in the parish. ;; Au excellent programme was provided by ; Miss Gwen Webster’s pupils and other o artists. The bazaar will bo continued this 's evening and to-morrow afternoon and evenic ink'-

Hill, Hanton, Tucker, and Perry; novelty—Mesdames M'Currach, Pickering, Pringle, and Miss Hutchins; cake, Mrs H. 0. Flinders; flower—Mesdames Pywell and O. Martin, Misses S. Hall, Welhey, and M’Carthy ; sweet—Mrs Harridge, Miss Page, and girls’ Bible class; produce—Mesdames C. T. Price, Stewart, Ombler, Oliphant, Howith, and Paine; men’s—vestrymen, boys’ Brigade, and Bible class; Christmas tree —Mesdames W. Butcher, J. Hicks, and Idour; tea rooms—Mesdames Isaac, Wilton, and M’Donald.
