£4O COLLECTED

COMBINED SING AT STRAND £4O was the total of donations received at the combined community sing for the Navy and Air Force Queens at tho Strand Theatre to-day. Both Miss Mary Pratt and Miss Jessie M‘Lennan made an appearance on the stage, thanking the public for their support of the carnival. They were received enthusiastically by the large house. Soloists were the queens themselves,* Miss Pratt singing ‘ When the Horn® Bells Ring Again,’ while Miss M'Lennan’s contribution was a recitation, ‘ Mrs Pinkerton’s Bonnet.’ The queens were introduced by the chairmen of their respective committees. After their appearance an auction sale brought good prices.
