The evening was spent in dancing, interspersed witii items. ■ The Rev. J. G. Laughton, superintendent of the Maori Mission, has been, nominated by the Waikato Presbytery as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. • Dr J. D. Salmond left yesterday fop Melbourne, where he will -represent tha Youth Committee of the Presbyterian Church at the triennial meeting of the Joint Board of the Graded Lessons of Australia and New Zealand. Mr S. Lawn left for the north by tha 11.35 express this morning. Dr Hugh Keith, who recently arrived in New Zealand from India, has been appointed resident medical officer at the No. 2 elementary flying training school at Bell Block, New PlymouthDr Keith is the father of Flightlieutenant lan Keith, formerly instructor of the New Plymouth Aero Club, and now on the permanent staff of the air station.
