Danger is seen by Mr Lee (Grey Lvnn) in the emergency regulatioa which empowers the Attorney-General to order the dismissal of any worker uk the interests of public safety He remarked in the House that it would ap. pear to take away or endanger certain privileges possessed by trade unionists.. He hoped the regulation would be administered with extreme care by th* Attorney-General. It could prevent a trade unionist from going on tn* job “ And,” he continued, iam afraid) that action by a trade unionist which is purely political might be interpreted bv some people-; ■ The Prime Minister, interrupted witl» a point of order, declaring that th* debate was to be on tbe regulation* concerning war finance. , Mr Speaker replied that he had under* stood the object of the debate was dismission of war regulations, ivar expenses, the compulsory loan, and any other regulations. The Prime Minister; “No, sir, yea never ruled that.” He assured th* Speaker that it was understood the debate should! be confined to financial questions, though the Government did not wish to stop opportunities of discussing the other regulations, and would give members that chance next week. The Speaker remarked that under tud circumstances war finance could be discussed separately, which would narrow the present debate. _ ... Mr Lee. before proceeding to cnticis* the loan method of war finance, stated that he had not intended/ to pursue th* question of the Attorney-General * powers to dismiss workers, and did noi intend to adopt a completely hostile attitude. “ I was seeking to discover what was intended by it.” '
