GREEN ISLAND COUNCIL

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Green Island County Council was held last night, the mayor (Mr G. A. Orange) being in tho chair. It was decided to accede to the suggestions of tho superintendent of the City Fire Brigade (Mr 11. H. Price) regarding improvements to the district’s water supply for fire-fighting purposes. Accounts passed for payment were: District fund, £1,406 3s 8d; drainage loan, £4 19s 2d; cinema, £94 Is lOd. A letter was received from the Minister of Housing advising that further sections would be purchased in Green Island for State housing purposes.
