PHYSICAL CULTURE

DISPLAY BY Y.M.C.A. CLASSES An attractive programme of all classes of physical culture and gymnasium activities was presented in the ST.M.G.A. gymnsium last Wednesday evening to an overflowing altendance of spectators. From the small boys and girls to the ■ ladies and most accomplished gymnasts, all taking part in the display showed that not only could they do their work efficiently, hut that they enjoyed every moment of their stay on the floor. The various exercises and novelty items were well arranged, and the performances of the groups were altogether pleasing. A clever' exhibition of tumbling was presented by Messrs Watson, Warburton, and Scott, and the secondary schoolboys gave a finished display on the parallel bars.’ On the horizontal bar tin' senior men’s squad showed ability and daring, and during tbo evening Master Alan Cropley presented two dances, which were greatly appreciated. Mrs W Haggitt supplied the music and Mr E‘. Bond was stage manager.

The display was conducted under the supervision of Mr R. J. L. Griffiths, who is hon. physical director, Mr C. W. Postgale being engaged in camp work at Taicri for the National Y.M.C.A,
