COMMUNITY SING

NAVY AND AIR FORGE QUEENS Friday’s sing will be for the Navy Queen (Miss Jessie McLennan) and the Air Force Queen (Miss Mary Pratt), both of whom will assist with items. Country supporters and listeners-in of both queens should send their donations and cheerios to Mr J. P. Himburg, care of Begg’s. The proceeds will be divided. The sing will be held in the Strand Theatre, commencing at noon, and owing to a change in Daventry news it will be broadcast from 4YA from noon until 1 p.m., and from then on by 4YO. Special sea and air force songs will be sung. An admirer has donated a baby’s 8-piece knitted layette (white), also a golf bag of solid leather, and these will be sold. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will be the leader, with Mr Alf. Pettitt at the piano. Flowers are acceptable for the stall.
