KIWi SWIMMER'S SUCCESS At the Municipal Baths on Saturday night Miss Ngairo Lane, of the Kiwi Club, .made an official attack on the New Zealand junior girls’ 50vds hack stroke record of 35 4-ssec held by Miss Betty Owens, of Auckland, and, putting up a remarkable performance at this stage of the year, was successful in equalling the record. Officially, the roar of tho New Zealand Amateur Swimming .Association extends from October 1 to September 30, and this urns Miss Lane’s last opportunity of attempting tho record before entering intermediate ranks. Karlior in the week she returned time only one second outside the record.
