RIFLE SHOOTING
KIWI CLUB The third and final competition of the president’s match was fired over ranges 300 and 600 yards at the Pelichet Bay range on Saturday. Though tho light throughout the afternoon was dull, tho conditions generally were ideal for shooting. A rear fishtail wind occasionally caused . Concern amongst the marksmen. Possibles were scored by Rifleman P. Fennessy at 300yds and Rifleman D. Kilgour at 600yds. Rifleman D. Kilgour had tho distinction of gaining highest score (66) off the rifle for the day, and in doing so counted out Rifleman H. Butel with the same total. Rifleman I). Kilgour’s shooting, ospeciallv his possible at GOO, was very creditable,' considering that ho shot under fairly difficult conditions and also that ho is perhaps tho youngest member of the club, being at present a pupil of the Otago Boys’ High School. 'l’he match was won by Kiflemap S. Smith with a total of 201, closely followed by Rifleman A. Baker with 200.
