EN ROUTE TO NEW HOMES
THE 89 BRITISH CHILDREN mi COMING TO DUNEDIN [Peh United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 28. All of the 89 children who arrived in New Zealand to make their temporary homes for the duration of the war will be dispersed to them by Monday. Thirty-five have been nominated by relations, and 14 went to the South Island last night, some to make their homes in Christchurch, some in Timaru, some in Dunedin, and one at Hokitika. The other nominated children have already joined their relations in Wellington or are on the way to homes further north.
The 54 who come to homes offered by foster parents have been divided into four parties, 10 going to Palmerston North, 10 to Masterton, 10 to Lower Hutt, and 34 to Wellington. Mr Fraser has cabled their arrival to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs and to the High Commissioner in London; also to the Provosts of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
