The Grey River dredge return is 3450 z in 131] hours (99,792 yards). MORERE OIL BORE. GISBORNE, September 26. New Zealand Petroleum Ltd. reports that the Morere well has reached 4,510 feet, with no change in the formation. At Midhirst the depth is unchanged. The company is preparing to sot the casing to shut off low-pressure water and sand, which have been impeding drilling.
COMPANY NEWS TOOHEY’S BREWERY PROFIT. Net profit of £163,014, reported by Tonhey’s Ltd., brewers, Sydney, for the year ended July 31, is an increase of £10,727, and is tlie highest since 1928-29. Dividend is unchanged at 9 per cent., and requires £155,843 ,on the increased capital. Payment to the staff provident fund is £5,000, and the remainder of the profit, £2,171, is added to £29,962 brought -forward, to make a surplus of £32,133 carried forward. Receipts increased by £114,104 to £935,661, ami expenses by £103,377 to £772,647.
