GOOD TEMPLARY

There was a good attendance at the weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge, No. 105, held on Tuesday evening in the Methodist Sunday School, Wesley street, when Sister Mrs M'Donald, chief templar, presided. One former member was readmitted, and a good report was submitted! on the work of the juvenile department. Bro. M'Curdy reported having visited All Nations’ Lodge, Port Chalmers. The past chief templar and secretary conducted a programme entitled ‘ A Night with Longfellow.’ The recitations were delivered by Sister A. Steedman, ‘ The Slave’s Dream ’ ; Bro. W. J. M'Curdy. ‘ The Wreck of the Hesperus ’; Sister W. G. lies, ‘ Resignation ’; Bro. G. lies. ‘ The Reaper of the Flowers ’; Sister M'Donald, ‘ The Children’s Hour ’; Bro. W. G. lies, ‘ Excelsior ’ ; Bro. W. A. lies, ‘ A Psalm of Life.’ The connective readings were given by the past chief templar and secretary, and l the hymns, ‘ Eternal Father ’ and ‘ Work. For the Night Is Coming,’ were sung by the members. Star of the South Juvenile Temple mot the same evening, when there was a fine attendance, and a varied programme was supplied by the members.
