RIFLE SHOOTING

DUNEDIN CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club held its annual meeting on Monday, the deputy president, Sir J. T. Gillan, being in the chair. There were 22 members present. As l the season promised to be a difficult one, it was decided to hold the club’s shoots every second Saturday, starting from November 2. Captain A. J. Cowie spoke of the high esteem in which the retiring president. Mr W, Bannerman, was held by all riflemen. Air Bannerman had held the office for 15 years. Rifleman C. J. Gamble was elected president, Rifleman J. L. Benfell vicepresident, and Rifleman R. J. M'Keich secretary. The club decided to travel to Waikouaiti on October 5 to have a shoot with the Waikouaiti Club on its opening day. • •
