OTAGO TENNIS CLUB
CPENIKG DAY Many members of the oldest tennis club in Otago assembled at the Castle street courts on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the opening day for the 104041 season as the guests of the president, Mr H. S. Adams, who was unavoidably unable to be present and was represented by the senior vice-president, Mr E. G Boddy. The latter stated that although 22 male members are serving with the forces, an influx of new lady members has prevented the loss from being badly felt financially, and although more new members would be welcomed, the prospects for tho future were bright The courts were declared open by Sir James Allen, who advised members to use them as often as circumstances permitted. to their own physical advantage at an age when out-door recreation was more important than ever before.
