BUT SUFFERING NO PRIVATIONS CHEERFUL NOTE FROM SCOTLAND “ We are certainly in the midst of a gigantic struggle, but every day Britain, thanks to its own exertions, those of its dominions and colonies, is_ becoming stronger. We are pestered at frequent intervals by enemy raids, but our Air Force is certainly wonderful. We have suffered no privations whatever, and business is carried on as usual. Certain articles of iood are rationed, but this is not a bad thing, as there is no doubt we cat too much extract from a letter dated August 3 from a Leith, Scotland, solicitoAo a St. Kilda resident, emphasises the fact that civilian morale in Great Britain remains unaffected by frequent bombardments by Gorman raiders. Those who are inclined to be sceptical of the unbroken morale reiterated in cabled news should take heart from the following:— “ Yon can assure all those whom you meet that we are a great nation, full of confidence, and determined to see the business through to a successful issue.’
