MAORI HILL SCHOOL

The above school held a successful bring and buy sale in the Coronation Hall, Maori Hill, on Saturday. In the afternoon the sale was opened by the chairman of the School Committee (Mr J. M. Patrick), who welcomed parents and friends, and expressed thanks and appreciation of the interest shown by them in the school as evidenced by the donations of cakes, produce, and sweets, and the large sale of tickets. In the evening an excellent programme,_ consisting mainly of class singing and items by the school choir was presented. Items were also given by Betsy Munro, Lorua Patrick, and Billy Chambers. At the conclusion of the concert the various stalls were again open for the sale of goods, and the takings for the day were £69.
