WOMEN’S HOCKEY

TRAINING COLLEGE V. MILTON A match between Training College and the Milton Club was played at Logan Park on Saturday. Neither team was at full strength, and both teams seemed to show signs of staleness. However, the fast ground led to some attractive, open hockey, and the first half was a hard contest, leaving the honours even at the score of 1-1. At the beginning of the second half Milton dominated the game and led to within 15 minutes of time by 3-2. In the final stages College staged some hot attacks, and succeeded in scoring three goals in rapid succession to win an evenly-contested game by 5-3. The game throughout was marked by keen play and freedom from infringements. The defence on both sides was sound, and some brilliant individual forward play was seen.
