BALLOT FOR TERRITORIALS
NOT IMMUNE FROM OVERSEAS SERVICE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 23. Men who are drawn in the ballot for Territorial service, which begins tomorrow, and who have passed medically, fit and are not exempted, will be expected to go into camp ‘immediately, according to an announcement by Mr Semple. The Minister also emphasised that the men selected for Territorial service in. the ballot this week would not be exempt from service overseas at a later date, and would be included in future ballots for overseas service. The number of men registered in thf First Division of the General Reserve, he said, was approximately 93,000.
. Asked whether there was likely to be another ballot before Christmas. Mr Semple said this would be entirely governed by circumstances, but if another ballot were necessary adequate notic< would be given those called up.
