“WELL BOMB BERLIN" LONDON, September 15. A hint that speedy reprisals would' be taken against Berlin for the raids on London was given by Mr Churchill yesday when he visited bombed areas in the East End. While he was walking along a street lined with wrecked and burned-out business premises a crowd of office girls and warehouses employees shouted out: “ What about bombing Berlin? ” Mr Churchill paused and prodded bis chest with bis forefinger. “ Leave that to me,” he said. Later a workman shouted: “Give it to ’em, Winnie. Give .’em hell.” Mr Churchill raised his hat and called back: “We’ll do our damnedest.”
