ST. PHILOMENA COLLEGE
EX-PUPILS’ ASSOCIATION The seventh annual meeting of the St. Philomena’s Ex-pupils’ Association was held in the college. The president (Mrs A. J, Dowling) was in the chair, ami there was a good attendance. The annual report and statement of receipts and expenditure were read by the secretary (Miss Maureen O’Dea), and it was seen that the past year had been a successful one, both socially and financially. It was gratifying to notice that the balance sheet showed a substantial credit balance The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Bishop Whyte; patroness, Mother M. Ignatius; president, Miss Geraldine Toomey; vice-presidents— Mosdames Bleach and Bourke, Misses E. Tither and E. Houston; auditor. Miss It. Fitzpatrick; secretary and treasurer, Miss Margaret Kehoe; committee—Mesdames Kennedy, Turnbull, A. J. Dowling, P. Walsh' J. Faulks, J. Casey, and Misses M. Tylee, A. O’Connell, and L. O’Dea; Play-reading Committee —Mrs J. Faulks, Miss V. Kelly, Miss N. Henderson; musical convener, Miss A. O’Connell, A vote of thanks was tendered the retiring president and secretary for their services during the past year. On behalf of the association, Mrs Dowling thanked the Sisters of the Community for the interest they had shown and the support they had given the association during the year. It was decided that the monthly meetings be held on the second Monday of every month.
