TABLE TENNIS
PATRIOTIC TOURNAMENT The table tennis season will close on Tuesday, when an invitation tournament will be held at the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium in aid of the Navy Queen’s funds. Arrangements have been made for 16 leading Otago players to take part. The special feature of the evening will be the appearance of Russel Algic (New Zealand and Otago singles and doubles champion) in exhibition matches. Algie. by his successful defence of the New Zealand title in Wellington early this month, lias proved that he is the finest player In the Dominion. Morris Friend (South Island champion). W. Fogarty, and L. Howe will also figure in exhibition matches. Seating accommodation has been arranged for a large mini her of spectators. Play will commence at 7.
