ANGLING PROSPECTS
The past season was attended by different weather conditions. Karly months found the rivers very low owing to the exceptionally dry spring (states the report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Otago Anglers’ Association to-morrow night). Later, with cold and wet weather, the opposite was experienced. The final weeks found much more settled conditions, and those fortunate enough to get awav found the fishing all that could bo desired. The prospects for the opening this season find the conditions much the same as last, with well-stocked streams in all districts. Owing to petrol restrictions, no doubt a most popular water will be Tomahawk Lagoon, where the fishing last season was very good. This year increased sport is 'assured with the large number of trout transferred from the Leith. The club competitions were well contested last season, and entry foes created a record.
