WARNING TO RUMANIA “ PROVOCATIVE " INCIDENT ALLEGED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 14. The Moscow radio again warned Rumania with regard to a new alleged frontier incident. M. Dekanozov, who is M. Molotov’s second deputy, summoned Dr Gafencu, the Rumanian Minister, described the incident as “ provocative,” and added that the Soviet would not tolerate such actions. M. Gafencu promised an investigation and punishments.
TRAWLERS SHOOT DOWN PLANE
LONDON, September 15. (Received September 16, at 10.15 a.m.) The Admiralty announces that the minesweeping trawlers Libra and Conquistador shot down an enemy plane this morning. There were no casualties on the trawlers. NEW ZEALAND CASUALTIES [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 16. The following official casualty list has been issued:— Sergeant W. D. F. Annan, R.N.Z.A.F., reported by the International Red Cross to be killed in action. His father is Mr F. J. A. Annan, of 58 Dickens street, Napier. Pilot-officer lan Clark Kirk, previously reported missing, is now reported by the International Rod Cross to be a prisoner of war and seriously wounded. His father is Mr J. Kirk, of Valley road, Henderson.
PRISONER OF WAR
[Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 15. Reported missing as the result of air operations on September 2, Pilotofficer lau C. Kirk, eldest son of tho late Air J. Kirk ami Airs Kirk, of Papatootoe, has now been reported a prisoner of war.
