CLOTHING FOR REFUGEES
HOME GOVERNMENT'S APPRECIATION [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 16. Lady Galway has received a letter from Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, stating that die has been asked, on behalf of His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom, to convey through -her to the members of her committee and all helpers its most warm thanks for the generous gifts of clothing, etc., for refugees, which are being sent to England by the guild. The work done by so large a number of willing workers is most warmly appreciated, and is one more evidence of the desire on the part of the people of New Zealand to play their part in the common war effort.
