Weight-lifting Championships.

Weight-lifting has made great advances in Otago, and it is becoming increasingly recognised as a fine bodybuilding and recreational exercise. Such has been the development in the sport that this year the Otago Weightlifters’ Association is to conduct a full championship tournament in the Early Settlors’ Hall on October 9, and large entries are expected for the respective classes. Already several New Zealand records have been established by local lifters, and this meeting will afford the Dunedin public its first opportunity or seeing something of # the development that has been made in modern weightlifting. By way of variety, members or local gymnasiums will give displays of tumbling and tap-dancing.
