RUGBY Great interest is being taken in the match at Carisbrook between Pirates and Southern, which will decide the premiership for the 1940 season. Both teams have been showing good allround form of late, and a close finish is expected. As a curtain-raiser the Southern and Zingari fifth grade teams will meet. Official guides, with particulars of teams and players, will be on sale at the Sports Depot, Jacobs’s, and Carisbrook. SOCCER At Logan Park Seacliff will play Mosgiel and at Prospect Park Maori Hill will meet Mornington. Interest will centre in the Northern-Technical game at the Oval, and Roslvn-Wakari’s match with Old Boys at Ellis Park, ns the two first-mentioned chi be are in close running for second position on the table.
